I know sometimes summer weather can be unbearably hot and there's no desire to put something complicated and heavy on the skin. But it's getting cooler at last. Anyway, I've had oily textures in my summer skincare routine as always ‘cause I'm using retinoid on evenings and my skin needs extra moisturizing.
Actually, I can say that I have two skincare routines, quick and relaxed one. And have to admit I tend to follow the quicker one ‘cause you know sometimes there's no time for proper absorption of every skincare products and besides, this summer was sticky so yeah…
Not going to blabbing here any further, let's see what I'm using this summer.
Relaxed (read long, “when you have time”) skincare routine
First step. after morning cleaning (I recommend this foaming one from the Body Shop) is currently always a toning solution, in particular, Pixi toner. It's not a very budget thing but still pretty affordable ‘cause I'm using it already for four months and I have a half of this toner in the package. This is an exfoliating solution but a very gentle one due to the ph level. And I'm don't mind that ‘cause I love extra exfoliation in the morning but without skin irritation. Just for the record, I have very sensitive skin and this toner still suits me. So I can get my extra exfoliation in the morning without irritations on the skin.
Second step. applying Matrixyl + HA on my forehead, under eyes area (and a bit on cheeks too ‘cause if I do not, my skin will get irritated by the next step of my skincare routine). This step is obviously for prevention of fine lines and wrinkles and softening of already existing ones. Make sure to give some time to absorb.
Third step. dabbing EUK into my prepping before skin (I mean Matrixyl + HA, I'm sure you can use another water-based product like this bestseller from the Ordinary (or this one) or popular more pricey thing from Glossier or any other water-based serums which prep your skin for further steps). This product and skincare step are quite contradictory for me. Of course, I understand that living in a big city is obliged me to put something protective on my skin (from any kind of pollution) but the texture of this treatment can be uncomfortable. It's heavier and more sticky than any oil I've tried. And evidently, it's not pleasing to put it on your skin when it's hot outside. But pollution is pollution, it's with us in summer heat and winter cold. In a nutshell, I'm still trying to get used to this skincare product, probably, in autumn it will be way easier to put on because of cooler weather. Have to admit EUK takes quite some time to absorb into the skin. Always let the product to settle down properly.
Fourth step. patting my Marula oil into the skin after previous treatments have been almost absorbed (almost ‘cause yeah they don't want to absorb entirely in the end). Let it settle down too. I think I can call it my holy grail of oils ‘cause I truly love it (however it can't suit everyone I understand that).
Quick morning skincare routine
{When you're lazy, have no time, it's too hot outside and so on}
Second step. patting into my skin Marula oil. I dab the skin with a paper tissue to remove the excess of oil when it's settled down before putting on my cc cream.

BEAUTY HACKs!
You can safely use a body butter on your face, it's ok and working similar to face cream. Perfect for additional moisturizing and locking in the previous treatments in case if you've run out of a face cream, or you like minimalistic skincare ritual and don't like endless packages, or it's the amazing hack for traveling (one cream for everything! Perfect!)
You can use a body butter on your hair instead of a hair oil if you're suffering from extra dryness like I am lately (when even hair masks don't help). Take some body butter, rub between palms and apply it on your wet hair where you need it. You can also use this method when you need to tame fluffy hairs around the face without extra oiliness.
